SUMMER OF SCI-FI: 05.01.2025 to 09.01.2025
MICKEY 17 is one of the best sci-fi films to watch this year. The art design and concept art make it worth it alone. However, the story is downright funny and will take the blues away on the complexities of our lives.
Mickey is a human that owes too much debt and no job prospects, so he heads out into space. But he signs up to be an “Expendable.” A type of colonist who is bioengineered to be “printed out” in the event of death. With every “reissue” of Mickey the comedy starts there and is sure to make you smile.
We won’t ruin the rest, but this is good science fiction and what Hollywood needs now to put life back into a genre, in our opinion, is oversaturated with either “kids sci-fi” or “superheroes.”
