ARTWORK: “Crossing the Granicus” – (Detail view only). Created by French artist, Gérard Audran (1640-1703), France. The engraving was created in 1672, after the original artwork made by the famous Charles Le Brun in 1655.

The Battle of the Granicus (334 BC) depicts Alexander the Great at the center of the cavalry battle. This work was printed for books that were sold throughout Europe.
