LADIES, we present a piece from 1920s Australia. The work combines the love of the ancient past with the current commercial output of the country of Australia. It is a large mural piece.
Napier Waller was a celebrated muralist and worked often in mosaics too. His style and work were greatly influenced by Pre-Raphaelite and late-nineteenth century British painters. He loved portraying men as heroes with an eye on the ancient past. His work can be seen on countless government buildings in the capital Canberra.
