ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Pierre Michel Alix was a French very successful engraver and book designer, who studied under Jacques-Philippe Le Bas. He was best known for his portraiture work for the new upper class and leadership sects of the French Revolution. Later graduating to doing portraits of France’s notable leaders and artists during the First French Republic.
