ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Francois August Rene Rodin was a French sculpture and considered the founder of modern sculpture. He was educated in the arts and took a craftsman-like approach to his works. Rodin possessed a strong talent to model a complex, turbulent, and deeply pocketed surface in clay. Many of his works were harshly criticized for being so expressive and different than traditional sculpture done in the past.
