ARTWORK: Male Academic Nude (Oil on Canvas) by Carl Budtz-Møller, c. 1905.
Carl Budtz-Møller (1882-1953) was a Danish painter known for his vibrant and detailed works, particularly his church interior scenes and depictions of everyday life. Budtz-Møller’s work often featured vivid colors and a strong sense of realism, capturing both the grandeur of church interiors and the simplicity of daily life in Italy and Denmark. He also contributed to the restoration of church frescoes in Denmark and spent many summers on the island of Bornholm, which inspired much of his landscape work.
