ARTWORK: The collected works of French artist, Bernard-Romain Julien from Bayonne, France. These were placed in books for academic studies of new artists. Also, collectors added them to their personal libraries, if they had an interest in the male physique, as seen through the lens of the Greco-Roman motif. Bernard-Romain Julien (1802-1871), was a French a prominent printmaker, lithographer, painter, art teacher and draughtsman. He specialized in academic male lithographs and ink portraits of the upper class (male and female portraits).
