Following WW2 and the defeat of the Nazis, muscle photography without a fascist label blossomed once again in the 1950s. Ten years following the end of the war, the city saw the rise of Arax Studio of Paris and others. But Arax was the most famous. They produced prints of bodybuilders. Many of them in the academic style and they were respected. Bodybuilders, working class men with muscle, and butch men sought them out and were immortalized. Here are a few snaps.
