This is the second adaptation of the famous novel called I Am Legend, by Richard Matheson. The first film starred legendary Vincent Price (1964).
In a future dystopia caused by a pandemic, Neville finds himself the only human being left, with the exception of mutants who are mad and quite diseased.
The story is crazy and also stars the beautiful and no-nonsense Rosalind Cash as a survivor and a strong black woman. The story explores so many themes, but the one that stood out today most of all was:
“White men choosing beautiful black women only if the world came to an end. Hmmm…interesting social studies discussion to be had readers. And, also featuring a strong black female performance too. Thank you, Ms. Cash!”
