OUR THOUGHTS:

This is a classic gem we were saving for the Summer of Sci-Fi, however, the film reached a recent milestone and now its anniversary is here.

On March 10, 1978 “The Fury” was released in theaters! Directed by Brian De Palma and starring Kirk Douglas, John Cassavetes, Amy Irving, Carrie Snodgress, Charles Durning, Fiona Lewis, and Andrew Stevens. The screenplay by John Farris was based on his 1976 novel of the same name. It tells the story of a former CIA agent who uses the talents of a young psychic to help retrieve his telekinetic son from a secret government agency. The film also features Rutanya Alda, Dennis Franz, Alice Nunn, Melody Thomas Scott, William Finely, Gordon Jump, and Daryl Hannah (in her film debut). The music was composed and conducted by John Williams. Rick Baker and William J. Tuttle both won Best Make-up at the 6th annual Saturn Awards for their work on the film.
