On May 18, 1979 “Battlestar Galactica” was released in theaters! Also known as “Saga of a Star World”, it was originally the first three episodes of the first season of the series Battlestar Galactica. A re-edit of the episodes was what was released theatrically in order to help recoup its high production costs. Directed by Richard A. Colla and written by Glen A. Larson. It stars Richard Hatch, Dirk Benedict, and Lorne Greene. It features appearances by Lew Ayres, Wilfrid Hyde-White, Ray Milland, Jane Seymour, Ed Begley, Jr. and Rick Springfield.
