HALLOWEEN VIDEO PARTY PICK: WILLARD (1971)
Looking for something a little strange, creepy, and wonderfully 1970s for your Halloween watch list? Add Willard to the lineup.
The film follows a lonely young man named Willard who forms an unusually close bond with a colony of rats. As his resentment toward the people around him grows, that bond takes a much darker turn — especially with the unforgettable Ben.
It’s part psychological horror, part revenge story, and part offbeat character study, with that wonderfully unsettling slow-burn atmosphere that 1970s horror did so well.
If your Halloween Video Party already has the usual vampires, slashers, witches, and ghosts, Willard gives you something different: creepy animals, isolation, obsession, and a surprisingly emotional story underneath it all.
BEAUX HOMMES Halloween recommendation: put Willard on the list. Dim the lights, pour something good, and keep an eye on the corners of the room. 🐀🎃
