ABOUT:
Musée d’Orsay is the best museum to visit in Paris and, if you only have time to visit one, this is it. Of course you could spend days on end exploring the countless incredible museums in Paris, but the Musée d’Orsay should be at the top of your list. You hear a lot about the Louvre and might find yourself thinking about the Louvre vs Musée d’Orsay, wondering which is more worthy of your time. While the Louvre is amazing – and it is! – I still recommend visiting the Musée d’Orsay, if you have to choose. Even if you don’t consider yourself an art lover, I can almost guarantee you will recognize many of the paintings here. It’s the largest collection of impressionist and post-impressionist art in the world (from 1848 to 1914) and includes some of the most famous paintings ever by artists like Van Gogh, Renoir, Monet, and Degas. The history and architecture of the building itself is fascinating, too, and you’ll be shocked to hear that it was almost demolished. Thankfully it was saved and turned into the world-class museum and art gallery you see today. Watch the video for more information and tips on getting the most out of your visit. Have you been to Musée d’Orsay? What were your impressions?
