Hans Holbein: Portrait of Sir Thomas Wyatt the Younger – 1540 – UK

A lovely exhibit is currently at Louvre AbuDhabi. This is a definite stop for people visiting the wonders of the Middle East this season. Handsome fellow that fell to the anger of the Tudors. Although handsome, he did conspire against the queen and crown.

Kisses from PARIS!!!

Take a moment to observe this portrait of Sir Thomas Wyatt the Younger.

Painted by German artist Hans Holbein, it combines classical ideals with naturalistic style. The subject, an English nobleman, was tragically executed for treason at age 33.

The artwork features a simple composition with detailed and refined elements, typical of the northern schools.
