HALLOWEEN ISSUE:
This is a prophetic picture. The best cinema is both entertaining and speculative. This film, made in the 1970s deals with the classic telling of the horror story of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, but does so with a twist. That unique idea being that the “transformation” is not to another male persona, but rather to a female character. The gloomy Dr. Jekyll discovers he does have an “inner woman” and she’s a real monster.Â
Naming the lovely creation, via his formula as his sister; he warns all and especially his love interest that she’s crazy. This film is perfect for those who like period pieces with costumes and sets, but also want a story that is interesting. The tale is creepy and quite modern. Enjoy and add to your Halloween watchlist.
