ACADEMY (Académies): Ferdo Vesel – 1889

1162

Ferdo Vesel is one of the most important Slovenian painters of the 19th century. He was born on May 18th,1861, he later died in the city of Ljubljana in 1946. Vesel worked with academic nude, landscaping, portraiture and folklore genre. His art works were torn between both the realistic and impressionist styles or schools.

In our opinion, he captures a light on the male torso that is both beautiful and angelic. The respect he shows to the male figurative is beyond impressive; with emphasis on giving this working-class gentleman a style that captures both his masculinity and his editorial dignity.
