Denijs Calvaert was an Antwerp-born Flemish painter, who lived and studied in Italy for most of his life (1540-1619). He worked with diverse styles and was a fan of Italian Renaissance stylings in the arts. He was also a successful landscape painter too. When not doing landscapes, his other works were of Biblical themes.
