A beautiful painting of a male Adonis from 1930s Russia. The model was a boxer. Russian academic art from the Soviet Era does have a certain appeal to those who love the male figurative. However, the politics and collective authoritarian history is the downside of such a huge body of work. We’ll explore more in the future.
